The International Olympic Committee has backed down and will allow Australia to continue to hang their boxing kangaroo banner from their building at the Olympic Village.

Given that there was absolutely no public or athlete support for the IOC position it was a wise move on their part. Why start something now when, if past games are any indication, there are bound to be more important issues to deal with during the games.

The Village is at peace again.
